Open House Second Saturday
Sunday, July 11, 2010
4th Wall’s Second Saturday open house was a phenomenal success. Doors opened at 2pm with the community waiting at our doors for their first peek as we kicked off our fund-raising campaign to ‘re-light’ The Beacon. Crowds slowed briefly for about an hour in the late afternoon but, picked back up to a steady pace, well past our intended time through 9pm. We finally closed our doors on the open house at 10pm and said “good night.” It was wonderful to hear stories from those who had worked at the theatre in its heyday and those who reminisced about the movies they saw for 30 cents! The Beacon was fondly remembered as the place in town to see first run films. The excitement and expectations of what the new chapter of The Beacon could be was expressed by many and matched our own excitement to deliver an entertainment venue that the whole community can be proud of.
4th Wall Productions would like to thank the community of Beacon for an amazing open house and a special thank you to Pat Manning, Ron Iarossi, Miss Vickie, Mayor Steve Gold, Assemblyman Frank K. Skartados and all the amazing talent who lent their voices to Music on the Squares. Thanks also to Seed to Fruit florist and Gourmetibles for their donations of flowers and treats which made our day that much sweeter. We are very excited and looking forward to the coming weeks and months as we begin this incredible journey in our new home, The Beacon. The outpouring of support was overwhelming and we are truly humbled by the amazing people of Beacon and our extended Hudson Valley artist community.
